The Green Roof Centre Seed Mix

DIY Envelopes - each envelope contains enough seed to cover 2msq of low nutrition substrate.

Our seeds are a specially blended recipe developed by Dr. Nigel Dunnett to give a range of plants which both look good and are perfectly suited to the rigors of being on roofs.

The mix includes meadow flowers, annuals, perennials, native and exotics also low growing Alpines such as sedums. The maximum height of the plants is approximately 30cm (12").

For the best results when sowing, mix the seeds with a approximately a cup of kiln dried sharp sand, this will aid the distribution of the lightweight seeds. The ideal substrate for this mixture is 100mm+ depth of 90% porous hardcore, like crushed brick or crushed concrete and 10% organic matter.
